Allan B. Lougheed, 79, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2009. He was born on May 13, 1930 in Wadena, Saskatchewan, Canada to parents, Leslie and Alice Lougheed. Mr. Lougheed was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the Canadian Army Medical Corps. He had worked in the medical equipment service industry and had lived in the local area since 1987, moving here from Cleveland, TN. Mr. Lougheed was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Fleming Island and was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a founding member of the Knights of Columbus at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He hand built three homes that his family lived in and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Glen Harold Lougheed of Vernon, Ontario, Canada. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Patricia Lougheed; son, Ronald Allan Lougheed (Karen) of Winter Garden, FL; daughters, Patricia Lougheed (Thomas Barkalow) of Glendale Heights, IL, Carol Lougheed (Les) of Knoxville, TN, Kathryn Dessert (Steve) of Howard, OH, Joan Campbell (Bruce) of Chattanooga, TN, Teresa Ackerman of Orange Park, FL, Deborah Nee (Robert) of Orange Park, FL, Sharon Johnson (David) of Greenville, SC, Virginia Lougheed of Atlanta, GA, Maureen Garcia (Juan) of Palm Coast, FL and Iris Jordan of Knoxville, TN; sisters, Iris A. Riviere of Cornwall, Ontario, Canada and Leslie A. Bernett of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada; 22 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Vigil service will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7190 Hwy. 17 S., Fleming Island, FL 32003 with visitation following the service until 8:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Thursday, August 13, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Donal Sullivan as Celebrant. Following cremation he will be inurned in the Sacred Heart Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Outreach Program or the Knights of Columbus.
