Betty Ruth Meeks

Betty Ruth Meeks, 75, of Penney Farms, FL passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017. She was born on July 20, 1941 in Dalton, GA to the late Benjamin Troupe and Mary Elizabeth (Shelton) Robinson. Betty was of the Baptist faith and member of Russell Baptist Church. She cherished time spent with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. Betty will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her.   She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl O. Meeks and is survived by her children, Robert Meeks (Tammie), Benjie Meeks, Eddie Meeks (Margaret) and Sherry Abernathy; sisters, Barbara Roberts (Ronald), Beverly Miller (Charlie) and Annette Cribb (Randy); 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.   A visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Sunday, March 5, 2017 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, March 6, 2017 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Surrency officiating. Interment will follow in Penney Farms Cemetery.
