Julia (Judy) Hood Falana, 85, passed away on March 1, 2017. Preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 57 years—Arthur J. Falana, parents Lawrence and Eva (Church) Hood, and granddaughter Linda Jean Falana. Survived by her children Eugene Falana, Becky (Larry) Johnson, Gail (Gary) Hapeman, Keith Falana, Jennifer (Matt) Hartley. 8 grandchildren: Genie (David) Mize, Stephanie (Chris) Brown, Avery (Zack) Keen, Jessica (Bubba) Wilson, Jason Francisco, Lana and Laurel Hartley. 8 great-grandchildren: Logan and Reagan Mize, Wyatt and Tyler Brown, Max Keen, Alexis and Chase Wilson, Georgia Francisco. While helping daddy run his business, Switzerland Dock and Bulkhead, she was a homemaker who loved crocheting and sewing gifts for others, making pies for every occasion, baking elaborate wedding cakes for family, and cooking delicious meals for anyone who found a seat at the table. Her passion was researching genealogy and sharing the findings with many descendants of the Falana, Hood, Church and Acosta families. She also loved to paint, complete crossword puzzles, bird watch, and always had flowers in bloom. We were very fortunate to have our beautiful and loving mother with us through the years but are comforted knowing she is finally reunited with our daddy. They both are dearly missed by their Suga-Babes and Suga-Lumps. Tootle-Lou! Private memorial service to be held at a later date.
