Sharon Bailey June 4, 1946 – March 16, 2017 Sharon passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 16, 2017 in Orange Park, FL at the age of 70. She was born on June 4, 1946 in Geneva, Illinois to parents Raymond and Elsie (Clayton) LeKander. Sharon was married and divorced. She had one child, Kimberly, from her first marriage. Sharon had been happily divorced for nearly 30 years. Sharon started her career with Northwestern Bell in Illinois. She continued to advance her career with a move to Minnesota. Later, her division split into a branch of AT&T. After 26 years, she retired in 1997. During her last couple of years at AT&T she went back to school to become an RN. She graduated in 1996 and started working in long-term care after she moved to Florida. Sharon loved her second career and retired in 2006. Sharon spent as much time as she could with her daughter Kim, son-in-law Damion Giles, and grandsons Nicholas and Kristofer. She loved her grandsons and enjoyed taking them on trips to Disney World and Cruising. She was often an after school care taker when they lived in Florida. She helped shape them into fine young men and was proud of their accomplishments and the adults they are becoming. Sharon was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan. She often converted others to become Viking fans. You would find her wearing a Viking hat or jacket most of the time. Sharon became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on April 5, 2001 when she joined Lakeshore Orange Park, Florida Chapter #1495. She came to Moosehaven on April 5, 2016 where she has resided for almost 1 year. Sharon enjoyed playing Golf, Dart’s and Bowling. She volunteered to take care of the Moosehaven bowling league. Sharon was a wonderful lady who will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Giles and her husband Damion and grandsons, Nicholas and Kristofer Giles of Cottage Grove, MN; mother, Elsie Frisk, a Moosehaven resident, Orange Park, FL; brothers, Randy LeKander of Fargo, ND and Jan LeKander of Temple, TX; sisters, Sheila Lang of St. Louis Park, MN; Donna Wilson of Cottage Grove, MN and her beloved dog Mitzi. At Sharon’s request there will be no services.
