Alex Vestrocy, Jr.

Alex Vestrocy, Jr., 91, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2009. He was born on September 27, 1917 in Columbus, OH to parents, Alex Vestrocy, Sr. and Elizabeth Nemeth Vestrocy. He was a World War II Veteran, serving his country in the United States Army. During that time he served four consecutive years overseas without a furlough. He later worked as a foreman at a steel mill. Mr. Vestrocy was originally from Pittsburg, PA and had lived in the Jacksonville, FL area since 2005. He was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church in Kennedy Township, PA and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Lena Vestrocy; daughter, Elizabeth (Bill) Allen of Jacksonville, FL and 4 grandsons. A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 2:30 pm.
