Scott Robin Phillips, 66, of Penney Farms, FL, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009. He was born on October 20, 1942 in Jacksonville, FL to parents, John and Jewell Phillips. Mr. Phillips had been in the United States Army Reserves and was employed in the marketing field. He has been in the local area since 1998, moving here from Houston, TX. He was a graduate of Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville as well as a Florida State Graduate, receiving a degree in business. He was an avid boater and enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. Mr. Phillips was a devoted Christian and was an associate member of Penney Memorial Church and attended First Baptist Church of Middleburg, FL. He served on the Finance Committee for the Town of Penney Farms and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Judy Phillips; children, Tanya (Robert) Roberts-Biddle of Atlanta, GA, James “J.D.” (Brenda) Roberts of Fayetteville, AR and Justin Roberts of Boynton Beach, FL; brother, Randal (Agatha) Phillips, Sr. of Grand Junction, CO; sister, Julet Phillips of Ormond Beach, FL; grandson, Presley Roberts; aunt, Talulah Dean of Ormond Beach, FL and nephew, Randal Phillips, Jr. of Orlando, FL. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, September 18, 2009 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Penney Memorial Church with Reverend Tim Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Penney Farms Retirement Community Cemetery. Please sign the family’s online register book at www.broadus-raines.com.
