Claire Rettinger

Claire Rettinger passed away September 26, 2009 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 93. She was born to Clyde and Alma Thompson on July 13, 1916 in Pittsburgh, PA. Claire married Earl Rettinger on December 4, 1937. They had two daughters Arlene and Carol. She was employed at M.C.B. Camp Lejeune, NC as a clerical worker retiring in 1980. Claire loved to crochet, knit, go fishing and was a Bingo fanatic. Claire became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose in February 26, 1962 when her husband, Earl joined Greenville, NC Lodge #885. He later transferred to Sneads Ferry Lodge #1454 in 1975. Claire and Earl came to Moosehaven on July 6, 1980 where she has resided for 29 years. He preceded her in death November 13, 1991. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, October 2, 2009 in the Moosehaven Chapel at 2:00 PM. Service will be conducted by Rev. Helen Taylor and Opportunity Chapter. She is survived by her two daughters, Arlene Brown of Middleburg, FL and Carol Burr of Mars, PA and 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
