Gladys Case Ganaway, 95, of Orange Park, formerly of Natchez, MS, died peacefully in her Orange Park home on Saturday, October 3, 2009. She now rests in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A service in celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, October 7, at 10:00 AM, at First Baptist Church of Orange Park.
Gladys was born on May 16, 1914, in Franklin County, MS, the daughter of Prentiss William Case and Lillie Ezell Case. She was preceded in death by her wonderful and faithful husband, Samuel Ganaway; brothers Ralph Hubert Case, Joseph Rayford Case, and Charles Aubrey Case.
Gladys was a loving mother to her surviving daughter, Linda Liechty, and her son-in-law, Ken. She loved her grandchildren, Kayla Paulk (Jason), of Portales, NM, and Gregory Liechty (Kara), of Lake Oswego, OR. Her two great-grandchildren, Samuel Garrison Liechty and Sarah Grace Liechty, were precious in her life. She is also survived by her only sister, Maggie Mae Myers, of Milton, FL, her brother, Prentiss William Case, Jr. (Betty Jean), of Ridgeland, MS, sisters-in-law Madie B. Case, of Saucier, MS, Alice Case, of Terry, MS, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and kind friends. Her life was also blessed through her Sunday School class and weekly visits to the Orange Park Senior Citizen Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the missions fund of First Baptist Church of Orange Park, 1140 Kingsley Avenue, Orange Park, FL, 32073 or Gideons International.
Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Natchez, MS, next to her husband, Sam. Together now, they will eternally live with God.
