Milford Virginia Brewer Ellis

Milford Virginia Brewer Ellis was born in Idabel, OK on March 1, 1915 to Charles Milford and Charity Virginia Williford Brewer. She passed away in Orange Park, FL on October 23, 2009. Mrs. Ellis was married on July 15, 1933 to Thomas Lewis Ellis in Macon, GA. She moved to Green Cove Springs, FL on March 9, 1946 where she worked for two years at Green Cove Sundries and then for thirty-one years at Mayhugh’s Drug Store. After retirement she worked part time at the Clay County library in Green Cove Springs and then for several years at the polling place for the county elections office. Mrs. Ellis had been a member of Orange Avenue Baptist Church for many years. She is survived by her son, Thomas Lewis Ellis, Jr.; granddaughters, Melody Jeanette Ellis Rivera (Gregory) and Laura Ann Ellis; great granddaughter, Graciela Joy Rivera; nephews, Donald (Frances) Showman of Salem, OR and Jeff (Lori) Showman of Olympia, WA and niece, Olympia Showman of Olympia, WA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, October 26, 2009 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Green Cove Springs with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.
