Hazel Bernice Keathley, 90, of Orange Park, FL, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009. She was born on February 9, 1919 in Memphis, TN to parents, Charles and Myrtle Phillips. Mrs. Keathley was a homemaker and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. While in Memphis, TN she was a member of Temple Baptist Church and also became a member of First Baptist Church of Dade City, FL, where she taught Sunday School and God’s love for over 20 years. Her final request was “all who do not have Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior, do so today”. Mrs. Keathley moved to the Orange Park area in 2001 and will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elbert L. Keathley; her son, Larry Lee Keathley; brother, Maston E. Phillips; sister, Juanita P. Sanders and her grandson, Byron Craig Burrow. Survivors include her son, Roger Wayne (Debra) Keathley of Vero Beach, FL; daughter, Marilyn K. Burrow of Orange Park, FL; niece, Nita Francis Wydell of Indian Rock, MI; grandchildren, Ashley (Becky), Keith Lee (Brenda), Kaylan and Scott; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. A special memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 2-4 pm at her Daughters home in Orange Park, for family and friends. A graveside inurnment will take place at a later date in Memory Hills Gardens, Memphis, TN.
