Melissa "Cathy" Catherine Holton

Melissa "Cathy" Catherine Holton, 51, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2009. She was born in Greenville, AL to parents, Luther O’Neal McCormick and Merle Flora Herring DeGroff on February 12, 1958 and had been a resident of Clay County for the last 10 years. She was a beautiful, smart and funny woman that always saw the inner light of a person and found good in everyone. Melissa believed in enjoying the things in life that cannot be bought and above all, her family always came first God is good. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Luther O’Neal McCormick; and she is survived by her mother, Merle F. Herring DeGroff; daughters, Crystal Richardson (Jayson Wood), Kayla Pitman and Destiny Holton; sons, Kyle and Michael Pitman; brother, Bruce McCormick (Gila); sister, Flo Smyth (Bryon); grandchildren, Tabitha and Christopher Richardson, JayLynn and Ayden Wood. Services will be held Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at 11:00 am at Buckaloo Church in Greenville, AL. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery.
