William "Bill" Gunn Gillespie

The man known affectionately as “Coach” to three generations of students passed away Monday, November 9, 2009. William Gunn (Bill) Gillespie (68) coached and taught in both Arkansas and Mississippi before retiring to Florida. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Osceola. Bill spent his retirement fishing, carving, rooting for the University of Florida, and spending time with his sister’s family in Orange Park. He is survived by his sister Shirley Elizabeth Hall of Orange Park and her family; his son Stephen Owen Gillespie of Meridian, MS; his daughter Casey Jacklyn Zvanut of North Carolina and his two grandsons, Isaac Kenway Zvanut (8) and Caleb Matthew Zvanut (2). Bill was laid to rest near his parents in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida on November 17, 2009 at 11:00 am.
