Roger Dale Higginbotham, Sr.

Roger Dale Higginbotham Sr., 57, of Middleburg, FL passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009. He was born on September 27, 1952 in Lake City, FL to parents Jehu and Ruby Higginbotham. He was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and attended Doctors Inlet Church of God in Orange Park, FL where he dedicated his life to his church. Roger served 38 1/2 years in The Florida Army National Guard in 631st maintenance division were he was classified as a CW4. He was a 915E auto technician and the electronics mechanic supervisor. He enjoyed farming and gardening but mostly time spent with his family. Roger will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his loving wife, Mary Higginbotham; mother, Ruby Baxley; children, Natalie Whitaker (Leonard Jr.), Cory Higginbotham, Roger, Jr. (Nicole), Christan Higginbotham and Jaden Higginbotham; brothers, Fred Higginbotham (Debra) and Terry Richard Higginbotham (Dawn); sisters, Jeri Dyess, Sarah Higginbotham and Charlene Ballantyne (Montie) and his beautiful grandchildren, Trey, Christopher, Lindsay, Luke and Corbitt. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at the Doctors Inlet Church of God, 144 Old Jennings Road. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 20, 2009 at Doctors Inlet Church of God officiated by Reverend W.B. McCue, Reverend Christopher Oliver and Reverend Ronnie Surrency.
