Allen Houbé

Allen Houbé, 71, passed away Monday, 16 November 2009. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 21st. Allen was born March 3, 1938 in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Caroline. He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and received his Master’s Degree from Northwestern University in 1967. He enjoyed a 30+ year engineering career and held over 3,000 patents. His work took him all over the world and he was the chair of several International Standards Commissions that impacted world safety in both automobiles and planes. He married Lelia (Le) Chase on June 13, 1959 and their children are Skip, Jill (Dan Kostiuk) and Suzy (Drew McLellan). Al also loved his two granddaughters, Kelsey and Lelia. Al loved his family, travel, his computer, and electrical gadgets of all kinds.
