Tom Carr passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 81. He was born to Fletcher and Lela Carr on January 27, 1929 in Dunham, KY. James married Margaret Pardee on January 27, 1973. He was an electrician for Florida Power and Light retiring in 1991. Tom became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose in May 26, 1959 when he joined Harrington, Delaware Lodge #534. Later he moved to Okeechobee, Fl and moved his membership to Lodge #1753. On June 29, 1982 he received his Fellowship Degree of Honor and on June 1, 1996 he achieved the highest honor of the fraternity, the Pilgrim Degree of Merit. Tom was a past Governor serving three times as Governor and Administrator for six years. He became a member of the 25 club on January 31, 1981. Tom was a member of Sailfish, FL Moose Legion #197. He sponsored 131 members in his lifetime. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Moosehaven Chapel followed by cremation and inurnment in the Moosehaven Mausoleum at a later date. Services conducted by Rev. Lyn James and Officers of Opportunity Lodge. He is survived by his wife Margaret Carr, a Moosehaven resident, a son James Carr, of Mechanicsville, VA and a daughter Lois Manning, of Live Oak, FL.
