Louise Veit

Louise Veit passed away February 19, 2010 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 92. She was born to Wade and Hattie Brittain on April 1, 1917 in Morganton, NC. Louise married Mr. Wyman Stubbs on November 2, 1939. They had two children, William and Patricia. Wyman preceded her in death in 1945. In 1949, Louise married Mr. Samuel “Ray” Smith and they had one son, Samuel “Sam.” He preceded her in death in 1960. On March 6, 1969 Louise married Mr. Joseph Veit. Louise became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose when Ray became a member of Morganton Lodge in 1953 and she joined Morganton, NC Chapter # 1382 where she earned her Academy of Friendship on May 1, 1969. Louise came to Moosehaven with her husband, Joe on April 11, 1989 where she resided almost 21 years. Joe preceded her in death on January 6, 1992. She is survived by her two sons, Samuel Smith and William Stubbs of Morganton, NC and daughter Patricia Walker of Marietta, Ga.; also seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
