Cecil Guy Shook, Jr., 83, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010. He was born on March 24, 1926 to parents, Cecil and Mary Shook. Mr. Shook was a World War II Veteran, serving his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired Fireman from the City of San Diego, CA as well as having been the owner of The Vacuum Shop in El Centro, CA for 35 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Orange Park and was known for his story telling and his love of reading and dogs. Mr. Shook will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Shook; children, Mike Shook of Tucson, AZ, Larry Shook of Spokane, WA and Leslie Shook; step-children, Laura Pike of Orange Park, FL, Ted La Fromboise, Jr. of Orange Park, FL and Tim La Fromboise of Jacksonville, FL; 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at First Baptist Church of Orange Park with Rev. David Tarkington officiating. Interment with military honors will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
