Lamar F. Cox, 84, of Penney Farms, FL passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010. He was born November 22, 1925 in Florala, Alabama to parents O.L. and Clifford Cox, Sr. Mr. Cox honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He served during World War II as a Radioman First Class. Mr. Cox moved to the local area 6 years ago from Brooksville, FL. He became an active volunteer for the Penney Farms Retirement Community. His duties included serving meals, host of game night and square dancing. Mr. Cox was of the Baptist faith and was a loyal member of Black Creek Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Olivia Cox and is survived by his daughters, Mary Elizabeth Deschaine (Tommy) and Grace Estelle Oliver (Ollie)and his brother, James Marion Cox. A memorial service will be held in his honor 2:00 pm Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Penney Memorial Church with Reverend Ernest Hastings and Reverend Wesley Crenshaw officiating.
