Robert Lee Edwards, 71, of Jacksonville, FL passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010. He was born October 1, 1938 in Ridgefield, Connecticut to parents Thaddeus and Anne Edwards. Robert grew up on a dairy farm in Moore Haven, FL. He enjoyed working around the cows and other farm animals. He would get up early every morning and deliver milk, with his father, before school. Mr. Edwards honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean and Vietnam War. He was always proud to say that he was a veteran. Robert moved to the local area, with his family, back in 1968. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Woodstock Baptist Church in Jacksonville, FL. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and collecting Eagles. He was also a big football fan, who loved the Miami Hurricanes. Mr. Edwards is survived by his sons, Robert Lee Edwards, Jr. and Cliffton McLain Edwards; brother George D. Edwards (Sylvia) and sisters, Lillian Olson and Iris Mattox (Daniel). He will be dearly missed. A memorial service in his honor will be held 10:00 am Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Woodstock Baptist Church, 9120 Crystal Springs Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32221 with Reverend Robert Davis.
