David John Burton, 76, of Middleburg, FL passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010. He was born May 31, 1933 in Redfield, SD to parents Otto and Effa Burton. Mr. Burton moved to the local area 10 years ago from Denver, CO. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. David worked and retired, after 30 years of loyal service, from Caterpillar, as a parts processor. Mr. Burton was also very active in numerous clubs. He was a life time member of the NRA, Loyal Order of the Moose #2410, American Legion Middleburg Post 250, VFW Post 8255 and a was a Steward in UAW. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling. He will always be remembered as a loving father and proud grandfather. David is preceded in death by both of his parents and son, Bryan Paul Burton. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Katheryn Burton; son, Russell J. Burton (Leann); daughters, Shiela K. Burton (Eric) and Denise Minchew (John); brothers, Dwayne Burton (Joanne) and Donald Burton (Pat); sister, Carol Mae McIntyre; grandchildren, Nicole, Jeremiah, Katrina, Russell, Alexander, Sydney, Danielle, Jessica, Melanie, Sterling, Emily and Joshua as well as his beloved Border Collies, Rocky, Lacey, King, Stormy and Sable. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am with Chaplain Benjamin Clayton officiating.
