James "Jim" Arnold Caughlin

James “Jim” Arnold Caughlin passed away April 24, 2010 in Orange Park, FL in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 78. He was born to Leo and Laverne Caughlin on September 29, 1931 in Chicago, IL. He was the oldest of seven children. Jim married Mary Lehman on August 12, 1961. She preceded him in death on December 6, 1999. He worked as a news distributor for the Chicago Daily News and the Chicago Tribune for 38 years and semi-retired in 1993. From 1993 until 2000 he was a part-time pizza-delivery man. Jim enjoyed playing golf, singing, dancing, crossword puzzles and watching sports on TV – especially Kentucky Wildcat Basketball. He had a great interest in sports trivia and American History. He was a devoted Christian, Catholic by denomination, who prayed the rosary every day until ill-health prevented it. Jim became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on November 12, 1955 when he joined the Elgin, IL Lodge #799. Jim came to Moosehaven on November 29, 2000 where he resided for 9 years. Services are to be held at Miller Funeral Home in Dundee, IL. He is survived by a son, Kevin Caughlin and a daughter, Jeanine Caughlin both of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by his brothers, Bill Caughlin, Thomas Caughlin, John Caughlin; sister, Eleanor (Caughlin) Reynolds and Catherine Caughlin. His sister Mary (Caughlin) Phalen died in 1968. .
