Charles John Tobin, Sr., 66, of Orange Park, FL passed away Monday, May 3, 2010. He was born on May 30, 1943 to parents Roswell and Florence Tobin in Brockton, MA. Mr. Tobin moved to the local area in 1990 from the Republic of Panama. Charles honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was a local member of the VFW and the Loyal Order of the Moose in the Republic of Panama. Charles was an avid football and baseball fan. You could find him in front of the T.V. cheering on the New England Patriots or the Boston Red Sox. One of Mr. Tobin’s fondest memories was watching the Boston Red Sox play against the Tampa Bay Rays in Tampa, FL. Charles will be dearly missed by those who knew him. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and is survived by his son, Charles Tobin, Jr.; daughters, Jennifer Winnik (Jeffery) and Susanna Tobin; sisters, Shirley Proctor (Peter) and Clara Normandin (Jerry) and grandchildren, Arianna and Julianna. The family asks that donations be made in his honor to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 1250 Fourth Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401. A memorial service will be held in his honor 10:30 am Friday, May 14, 2010 at in the Jacksonville National Cemetery with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating military honors will be conferred at cemetery.
