Frederick John Newman, 77, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Monday June 14, 2010. He was born February 3, 1933 in Detroit, MI to parents Wesley and Evelyn Newman. Mr. Newman honorably served in the United States Army, during the Korean War. He was a proud member of the AMVETS in Grosse Pointe, MI. Frederick moved to the local area in 2006 from Naples, FL. He was a member of the North Florida Show Car Association (NFSCA) here in Jacksonville, FL and a member of the Cool Cruisers of Naples, FL. Mr. Newman was of the Lutheran faith and a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Middleburg, FL. He will always be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and a best friend. He leaves behind to cherish his memories many dear relatives and friends. Mr. Newman is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Cheryle Newman; son, Wesley (Renee) Newman; daughters, Jennifer (Martin) Bustamante, Heather (Jimmy) Ferris and Jennifer Tozer; sister, Joanne (Donald) Povlitz; grandchildren, Martin, Jr., Michael, Brian, Justin, Aaron, Heidi, Adan, A.J., Adam and Amina; brother-in-laws, Cecil and David (Mary Anne) Coon; sister-in-law, Judith (Ronald) Foley and special friends, Susan and Robert Horvath. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Community Hospice of N.E. Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1614 Blanding Blvd., Middleburg, FL 32068 with Reverend Joseph Molitoris officiating.
