Betty Raulerson Loos Kennedy, 83, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center. She was born to James and Minnie Smith on March 22, 1927 in Tampa, FL. Betty married Arthur D. Raulerson on December 30, 1945. They had a daughter, Marsha Raulerson and son, David Raulerson, who preceded her in death. Betty married Mr. Robert Kennedy on March 8, 1997. She worked as a telephone operator for Sprint and retired on April 1, 1989. She loved to volunteer and help others. She loved to cook for the homeless, especially the mothers and children. Betty would even take them to her home until they could provide for themselves. She was a people person, who never met a stranger. Betty continued her love for helping others at Moosehaven. If she saw someone with a need, she would take them right under her wing. Betty was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church of Ocala, FL. She joined the Loyal Order of Moose in Silver Springs, FL Chapter #459 on March 6, 1975 where she earned her Academy of Friendship. She was also a member of the Elks and the VFW of Silver Springs, FL. Betty and Bob moved to Moosehaven on July 31, 2007 where she has resided for almost 3 years. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Kennedy; daughters, Marsha (Stephen) DeLuca of Ocala, FL and a “yankee daughter” Penny Hardick of MA; grandchildren, Melissa Powell, Lorraine Licquia, Daniel L. Dees and David D. Raulerson Jr. and 7 great grand children. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Monday, June 21, 2010 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with Reverend Dan Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park Ocala, FL.
