Dean V. Reesey, Sr.

Dean V. Reesey Sr., 73, beloved husband of Ruth Reesey for 52 years; devoted father of Dean Reesey Jr., wife Joan; Raymond Reesey; Philip Reesey, wife Meg; Laurence Reesey, wife Kathy; Robert Reesey, wife Angelica; grandfather of Dean III, Stephen, Laura, Kara, Joseph, Kayla and Tyler; great grandfather of Brooke, Hailey, Lilly and Harley. Also survived by his mother-in-law Margaret Willis and sister Karen Staley. Dean served in the US Air Force 20 years and worked for the US Government for the next 22 years ending his career working for the Joint Chiefs of Staff/National Military Command Center at the Pentagon in Washington, DC. He was very active in his church at Grace Lutheran Church, Woodbridge, VA and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Middleburg, FL serving as an Elder in both churches. After retiring, he moved to Fleming Island, FL. He stayed very active in the community volunteering with the Clay County Sheriffs Department and Fleming Island Home Association. He enjoyed playing bridge and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, June 28, 2010 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Joseph Molitoris officiating. Military honors will be given at the service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Building Fund which is near and dear to Dean’s heart at 1614 Blanding Blvd., Middleburg, FL 32068.
