Douglas Clay Basham, 61, of Middleburg, FL passed away peacefully Friday, June 25, 2010. He was born on April 14, 1949 in Pewee Valley, KY to parents Raymond and Ruth Basham. Mr. Basham honorable served his country in the United States Navy and served during Vietnam and Desert Storm. He retired from active duty after 22 years of loyal service as an ADC. Douglas started working for NADEP, at NAS Jacksonville, in 1985 and continued to work as an Aircraft Engine Evaluator and Examiner up until recently. In his spare time he enjoyed watching baseball games and boxing matches on T.V. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Basham is survived by his loving wife of 6 years, Nadiya Basham; son Christopher (Kimberly) Basham; daughters, Amy Basham, Kacey (Chris) Arias and Tetyana Kudryavova, brothers, Mike Basham, George Walden and Teddy Walden; sisters, Sarah Ramsey and Donna Capito and granddaughter, Emory Basham. A memorial service will be held in his honor 5:00 pm Tuesday, June 29, 2010 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Tom Moore officiating. Military honors will be conferred at the chapel. An inurnment at the Jacksonville National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
