Joan Ward

Joan Ward, 54, of St. Augustine, FL, passed away July 19, 2010. She was born on October 9, 1955 in Jacksonville, FL to parents, Wilford and Mary Driggers. She had been a hostess in the restaurant business and had worked for Corky Bell’s and Scuttlebutts. She enjoyed catering and entertaining her family and friends. She loved the beach, flowers and working with her brother Sam in stock car racing. Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her husband, Virgil Ward; sons, Shawn (Crystal) Kight and Destin Kelley; daughter, Michele (Tony) Hendricks; brothers, Sam and Bob Driggers; sister, Darlene Barnard and grandchildren, River Kight, Jessica Pomar and Cheyanna Hendricks. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home.
