Hurley D. Miles, 84, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Thursday, July 29, 2010. Mr. Miles was born to parents Richard and Lonie Miles on February 13, 1926 in Chipley, FL. He moved to Green Cove Springs in 1942 though he considered himself a lifelong resident. Mr. Miles honorably served his country in The United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. In 1991 Hurley retired from the Clay County School Board after working at Orange Park High School. Mr. Miles served as a deacon for Shiloh Baptist Church for over 25 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and a sister. Mr. Miles will be deeply missed by his beloved family and friends. Hurley is survived by his loving wife Doris Miles; two daughters, Earline (Tommy) Padgett and Diane (Greg) Hodge, both graduates of Clay High School; three grandchildren, Eric (Rachel) Padgett, Heather Padgett and Mark (Carrie) Hodge; six great grandchildren, Sabrina, Justin, Emily, Johnathon, Erika and Katie. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Ball and Rev. Charlie Hunt officiating.
