Deborah "Debi" Hinson Messer

Deborah “Debi” Hinson Messer, 51, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010. She was born on March 28, 1959 in Wurtzburg, Germany to parents, James and Carol Hinson, Sr. She had worked as a Title Clerk for the Tax Collectors office and was an active member and sang in the choir at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She was involved in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life and was the recipient of the Courage Award for Northeast Florida. She was involved and coached in the Upward Basketball and Cheerleading program and was a part of PAL sports. Debi will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Bowman and her sister, Sheila Sue Hinson. Survivors include her father, James Hinson, Sr. and step-mother, Mary Lou Hinson; daughters, Zoe and Cheylan Messer and her brother, James “Buddy” Hinson, Jr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, August 6, 2010 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 310 S. Oakridge Ave., Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Madaris officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Fleming Island, FL.
