Sue Espey

Sue Espey, 70, of Fleming Island, FL passed away Monday, August 16, 2010. Born to Silas and Irene Duncan on July 14, 1940 in Oklahoma City, OK, she moved to Florida in 1988 from Dallas, TX. Of the Baptist faith, she served as a Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School teacher for many years. Mrs. Espey was an entrepreneur, having owned and operated various businesses throughout her life and eventually retired from Books-A-Million as Regional Vice President. She also taught piano lessons and served as PTA President. She was an avid reader and will be remembered for her love of horses, scrapbooking, and her talent for decorating, but most of all for her generosity and love for her family. Mrs. Espey is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, James L. Espey; two children: Gary (Dena) Espey and Terri (Michael) Collins; and three grandchildren: Kacie, Kaleb, and Sydni. Visitation will be held on Wed, Aug. 18, 2010 from 6-8 pm at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home on Thurs, Aug. 19, 2010 at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Charlie Hunt.
