Marion D. “Buddy” Blake, 82, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He was born on April 28, 1928 in Little Rock, AR. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps and the Florida Air National Guard. He was a sheet metal mechanic for NAS Jacksonville for many years. He played baseball and softball in his spare time as well as being a little league coach. He was also a baseball umpire for the City of Jacksonville. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle but his greatest joy was his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife and family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Hazel Blake and his sister Martha Evans. He is survived by his wife, Rose M. “Rosie” Blake; son, Ronald G. Blake; daughters, Roseanne Brown and Mary Larson (Kevin); sisters, Alice Blake and Bert Blake; grandsons, Richard Hedberg, Kevin Brown (Stefanie), Christopher Brown (Lindsee) and Blake Burnham and great-grandchildren, Logan Brown, Sierra Hedberg and on the way in January 2011, Rylee Brown. Graveside service and inurnment will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 30, 2010 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors.
