Reece H. Howard, 74, of Fleming Island, FL passed away on Tuesday August 24, 2010 in Fleming Island, FL. He was born on January 5, 1936 to parents Fulton and Ruby Howard. Mr. Howard served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and retired after 22 years of service. While serving his country in the US Air Force he served during the Vietnam and Korean conflicts. He has lived in the Jacksonville and Fleming Island area for the last 30 years. Mr. Howard was the president of the Pace Island Home Owners Association and was very involved in his community. He was a master gardener who loved gardening. Mr. Howard enjoyed working on computers and photography. He was a loving and devoted husband who will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 52 years Judy Howard; son, Richard Howard and his wife Linda of Fleming Island, FL; daughter, Rhonda Klansky and her husband Zachary of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Edward D. Howard and his wife Fannie Lou of Matthews, NC; aunt, Doris Reeder of Monroe, NC; grandchildren, Alexander Coffman and his wife Amirah of Dover, DE and Jacob Coffman of Spokane, WA. A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 pm on Monday, August 30, 2010 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating with Military honors. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Shands Hospital Cancer Fund P.O. Box 14425 Gainesville, FL 32604.
