James "Jeep" Lyman Maxwell, Sr.

James "Jeep" Lyman Maxwell, Sr., 75, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on Thursday, August 26, 2010. He was born on November 19, 1934 in Green Cove Springs, FL to parents Alfred and Bertha Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was life long resident of Green Cove Springs and attended Hickory Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Maxwell was a member of the Cabul Lodge No. 116 F.& A.M. in Green Cove Springs, FL. Jeep was devoted to his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren who knew him as “Papa Jeep”. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Martha A. Maxwell; sons, Jimmy Maxwell, Kenny Maxwell and his wife Dawn and Jeff Maxwell; brothers, Gordon and Julian Maxwell; sister, Polly Krause; grandsons, Brooks, Cooper and Austin Maxwell; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, August 29, 2010 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday, August 30, 2010 at 11:00 am at Hickory Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Madaris officiating.
