Gary L. Heimbach, 59, of Green Cove Springs, FL, died tragically in an automobile accident on Friday, October 27, 2006. Gary was born August 22, 1947 to the late Isabelle and Joseph Heimbach in Port Huron, MI. Gary graduated from P.H.H.S. in 1965 and attended St. Clair County Community College for 2 years. Gary served in the United States Navy for 6 years and then went to work for the IBM Corporation for 33 years. Gary was an avid golfer and belonged to Magnolia Point Men’s Golf Association for 3 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Green Cove Springs and was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother and uncle. Gary married Kathleen Allen Heimbach on June 4, 1971 in Port Huron, MI. He is survived by his loving wife Kathie; five daughters, Lindsay Spencer (Alden) of Hampton, GA, Kandice, Emily, Tori and Betty; two grandchildren, Isabelle and Zachary Spencer of Hampton, GA; brother, Joseph Heimbach of Marysville, MI; niece, Khaila Allen of Michigan; nephews, Joel and Craig Heimbach of Michigan; and brothers-in-law, Craig and Patrick Allen of Michigan. Gary was also a foster parent to many children with special needs. Gary also leaves behind many cousins and dear friends as well as his dog, Jack. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, November 3, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Fleming Island with a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 pm. A Celebration Mass will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 4, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Donal Sullivan as Celebrant. Military honors will be conferred at the service.
