Chandler Keifer Walter Mendez

Chandler Keifer Walter Mendez, 16, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010 after a long illness. He was born on December 2, 1993 in Orange Park, FL. He was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church and had a great love for life, his family and friends. Chandler graduated from Clay High School this year and loved being outdoors, hunting in the woods, fishing or riding four wheelers. He especially enjoyed riding dirt bikes with his friend Tabatha. Chandler was preceded in death by his grandfather, Lawrence Hensley. He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends and is survived by his mother, Melissa Modlin; grandparents, Larry and Connie; great-grandmother, Rose Sims; brothers, Preston and Malachi and sisters, Kortnie, Nylene, Langston and Myranda. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Saturday, September 11, 2010 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Grace Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Preston Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the Penney Farms Cemetery.
