Hibbert Eugene "Gene" Church

Hibbert Eugene “Gene” Church, 70, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2010. He was born on April 18, 1940 in Grundy, VA to parents Joseph and Ocie Mae Church. He moved to the Green Cove Springs area in 1987 coming from VA. Gene enjoyed watching T.V., wood working and gardening. Mr. Church has worked as a welder for Mobro Marine for the past 22 years. Gene was a devoted family man who will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Phillip Eugene Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Shirley Church; son, Robert L. Church (Pamela); daughters, Sandra C. Blankenship (Charles) and Susan A. Brock (Larry); brother, Estil Church (Solona); sisters, Stella Howell and Shirley Acharya (Harry); 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, September 12, 2010 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11:00 am at Congregational Holiness Church with Pastor Ronnie Surrency officiating.
