Harold "Red" Whitney

Harold “Red” Whitney passed away September 14, 2010 at 9:10 AM at the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 86. He was born to Elmer and Bertina Whitney on March 26, 1924 in Leland, Illinois. Red married Elizabeth Mullens on December 27, 1944 in Aurora, Illinois. Red worked as a mechanic for Bernie’s Auto Service retiring in 1988. He was a WWII Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1954. He received a World War II Victory medal and an American Area medal. Red became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on August 31, 1959 when he joined Batavia, IL Lodge #682. He was a member of the 25 Club, enrolling 26 members. He received the Fellowship Degree of Honor on June 27, 1967. He was also a member of Mecca, IL Moose Legion #9. Internment with military honors will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora, IL. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Betty, who preceded him in death on April 3, 1994. His brother Robert, sister Irene and several nieces and nephews survive him.
