Marguerita (Peggy) Claire Goodson -Turbeville, passed away peacefully at her daughters home on September 27, 2010 in Green Cove Springs, Florida at the age of 84. Born Marguerita Claire Goodson on March 03, 1926 to parents Marguerite Custin and Francis Maxie Goodson Sr. of Savannah, Georgia. Marguerita was predeceased in death by her mother and father, her brother Francis Maxie Goodson Jr. and granddaughter Bridgett Annette Turbeville. She leaves behind her devoted family to cherish her memory, her son Forest Allen Turbeville Jr. and her daughter Bonnie Claire Johnson (Donald). Marguerita also leaves behind her seven grandchildren whom she adored and referred to them as "Peggy’s Pearls", Larry Johnson (Larry), Lisa Branch (Charlie), Melissa Watts, Scott, Barry, Timothy and Tiffany Turbeville. She also leaves behind ten great-grandchildren, Ashley Boise (Steven) , Allison Harrell, Alex Johnson, Maddison and Zane Watts, Jake, Reagan, Matthew, Lynn and Jen Turbeville, her sister-in-law Shirley Goodson whom she loved as a sister, nieces Debbie Cahill (Jones), Nancy Page (Ernie) and nephew Stuart Goodson, also Charlie Scaff, Evon Emry, Janice and Grant Miller and Ruben Hernandez whom she loved as family. Marguerita, known as" Peggy" to all that knew her, was the essence of a true southern lady, she had style and grace and a lovely southern drawl. She was a beautiful woman on the outside, but more importantly she had a kind and beautiful spirit. She always had a smile, a compliment, a kiss and an "I love you" for those she would meet. She was vivacious and had a special sparkle about her, she was the shining light of our family. Marguerita adored her family and she was her happiest when she had her children, grandchildren and great-grand’s around her for holidays and birthday celebrations. You will forever be in our hearts Mama, always cherished, always beautiful and remembered with love and laughter. "Remember me with laughter not tears, if you can’t remember me with laughter, then don’t remember me at all" Written by Marguerita, date unknown. I know you’re in the arms of the angels, rest peacefully my sweet Mama, you’ve had a long and arduous journey. The family will have a private service. A special heart felt thank you from Marguerita’s children and their families to Charlie Scaff and Evon Emry who so lovingly helped to care for our mother. The wonderful staff of Northeast Florida COMMUNITY HOSPICE. Dr. Sorresso, Kim, Deborah, Sarah and Tim McDaniel, D MIN, we could never find the right words to express the gratitude that we have for all of you for your kindness and the wonderful care that you gave to our beloved mother, and for the caring and spiritual support that you gave to our family.
