Natalie Dominique Bland

Natalie Dominique Bland, 38, has passed from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a courageous battle with cancer on September 28, 2010. She was born in Chicago, IL to Susan Bland and George Smith, December 12, 1971. At the tender age of two she went to live with her grandmother Juanita Blake in Puerto Rico where she was lovingly cared for. Natalie Dominique finished grade school and high school in Puerto Rico and attended junior college where she studied Office Practice. Seeking a career as a bi-lingual medical assistant, she moved back to Chicago for several years while attending classes and working various jobs. Leaving Chicago she went to Virginia for a few years and then made her home in Orange Park. It was in Florida. Natalie’s battle with cancer started in 2006, after a year and a half, she was declared in remission. During this time she found a church home with West Jax COGIC. Although Natalie Dominique never married or had children, she was devoted to her only niece Kelsey, daughter of her sister, Koi Nevels. When her cancer returned in the later months of 2009, she was studying to be a pharmacist’s assistant. Natalie Dominique was once again in the loving care of her grandma during her battle for life.
