Donald Harold Gilmore

Mr. Donald H. Gilmore, 76, passed away on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, was born in Collinsville, Ill on April 6, 1934, He is survived by his wife, Lucille (Lucy) and son Mark Alan and was preceded in death by his daughter, Leigh Ann Gilmore Brown, mother, of Logan Brown all of Orange Park. He is the son, of Harold and Oletha (Hilgemeyer) Gilmore and brother, of Alan(Joy) and Jack(Patricia) Gilmore both of Illinois; nephews, Scott and Todd and niece Jacklyn and many great nephews and nieces. A resident of Orange Park for over 33 years, he will be missed by his loving friends plus his church family at Calvary United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 after which he worked for many years at Wohl Shoe Co. in St. Louis MO, also as a dog catcher in IL and as manager of children’s shoes at Dillard’s Dept. store in O.P. from where he retired. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Broadus Raines Funeral Home, 501 Spring St., Green Cove Springs, Fla., (904) 284-4000.
