P.E. "Mickey" Paul

P.E. “Mickey” Paul, 64, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away Monday, October 18, 2010. He was born on December 15, 1945 in Jacksonville, FL to parents Lloyd and Mary Paul. Mr. Paul had served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era entering the service at age 18 and honorably discharged 3 years later as a Sergeant. He had been the owner of Aztec Erectors in Jacksonville since 1978. Later in life he obtained his general contracting license which had been a life-long goal. He was an accomplished pilot who was commercial, multi-engine and instrument rated and a flight instructor. Mr. Paul was a member of the William B. Barnett Lodge #187 Free & Accepted Masons as well as the Morocco Shrine where he was an Ambassador. He was also a member of and Past Commander of the Flying Fezzes. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Coreathia “Thiea” Paul; devoted children, Mitchell S. Paul (Tammie) and Dorothy A. Walker; beloved grandchildren, Megan Paul, Sydney Paul, Danielle Walker, Rachael Robertson, Amanda Moore and Adam Baxley; precious great-granddaughter, Caroline Baxley; 3 brothers and 1 sister. He was predeceased by his parents, his oldest son, Darryl A. Moore, and his best friends and in-laws, Alan and Mildred Swanwick. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, October 29, 2010 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 30, 2010 in the family home located at 132 West 65th St., Jacksonville, FL 32208 with Rev. Gary L. Cutler officiating. Masonic Rites and military honors will be given at the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, c/o Morocco Shrine 3800 St. Johns Bluff Rd. S., Jacksonville, FL 32224-2620.
