Elerice "Butch" Fentrice Smith

Elerice “Butch” Fentrice Smith, 74, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away on October 22, 2010. He was born on May 6, 1936 in Baxley, GA to parents, C.L. Daniels and Pauline Rigdon. Mr. Smith honorably served his country in the United States Army. He had worked as a plant supervisor at Union Camp Corporation in Jacksonville and Green Cove Springs, FL for 33 years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his grandson, Daniel Smith. He was a loving and devoted husband who will be dearly missed by his wife of 50 years, Merlene Deese Smith; children, James Smith (Mandy), Arthur Smith (Kimberly) and George Smith (Marcie); grandchildren, Jennifer Edwards (Damon), James Smith II, Kayla Smith, Sarah Smith and Matthew Smith; great-grandchildren, Brycen Edwards, Vanessa Smith and Brynn Edwards. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Flanagan officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
