Joel Keith Myers, Sr.

Joel Keith Myers, Sr., 48, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2010. He was born on October 23, 1962 to parents, Damon & Linda Myers in Tifton, GA, and has been a resident of Clay County since 1982. He was a 1980 graduate of Tift County High School and a graduate of the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College with honors in pre-med. Keith was an avid fisherman, hunter and enjoyed scuba diving and being on the water outdoors. He enjoyed his job at First Coast Business Solutions before having to leave due to his illness. Keith loved to watch game and history shows on T.V. but his greatest love was for his children. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen Myers. Keith will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include his parents, Damon & Linda Myers; son, Joel Myers, Jr.; daughter, Kelli Myers; one brother, Richard Mark Myers; mother and father-in-law, Harold and Jewel Knowles and the Knowles family; his dog “Duce”. The family will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 13, 2010 officiated by Reverend Bobby Register. Pallbearers will be Joel Myers, Jr., Josh and Justin Knowles, Tyler Ruhnau, Matthew and Rick Myers. Interment will follow in the Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
