Judy Hatcher Carter, 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at her home in Middleburg, FL. She was born on April 1, 1944 in Clay County, FL to parents Ivy and Lucile Green Hatcher. Judy had been a lifelong resident of the Clay County area. Of the Baptist faith, Mrs. Carter was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her family. Judy loved going to the mountains in Tennessee to her log cabin that she and her husband built. She was retired from the Clay County School Board after 25 years as a bus driver. Judy enjoyed watching T.V. especially The Young & Restless and the Hallmark Channel. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beautiful daughter, Teresa Miller. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Johnnie Carter; grandson, John Carter West; sister, Joan H. Padgett; foster granddaughter, Desirae Marlar and her beloved dog “Little Tree”. The family will receive friends in the chapel of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home on Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Funeral services for Mrs. Carter will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 1:30 pm with Reverend Kenneth Pippin officiating.
