James W. Tippette, Jr., 81, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Monday, January 1, 2007. He was born February 14, 1925 in Live Oak, FL to parents, James and Ruby Tippette, Sr. Mr. Tippette was a retired Petty Officer First Class in the United States Navy with 30 years of service. He fought for our country in World War II, Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Following his military career, he worked for NARF at NAS Jacksonville in avionics for 20 years. Mr. Tippette was a member of Berean Baptist Church and served the Lord faithfully. He was a soul winner and a Bus Captain. He enjoyed gardening and fishing and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Jessie S. Tippette; children, James E. Tippette, Charles H. Tippette and Cheryl A. Latner; sister, Martha Soltis; grandchildren, Anthony Tippette, James Beasley, David Tippette, Matthew Latner, Nichole Tippette, Ashleigh Latner, Emily Latner, Troy Burnette and Nancy Moore and great-grandchildren, Charisma Beasley, James Scott Tippette, Chris Miller and Michael Miller. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 4, 2007 in the Chapel of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Hines officiating. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Jacksonville, FL.
