James Whalen

James “Jim” Whalen, 46, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2007. Born on February 10, 1960 to parents Charles R. and Marguerite (Montpetite) Whalen in Plattsburgh, NY, he graduated from Lisbon High School in 1978 and moved to the Clay County area in the 1980’s. Of the Catholic faith, he worked on dredge boats as a Chief Engineer for Great Lakes Dredge and Dock and was an avid reader. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite and is survived by his father, Charles Whalen of Green Cove Springs, FL; one son, James Ray Whalen of Daytona Beach, FL; one daughter, Jennifer Whalen of Daytona Beach, FL; and one sister, Patricia Hartson, and her husband Gary, of Madrid, NY. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 25, 2007 in the chapel of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home officiated by Father Donal Sullivan.
