Calvin C. Hamilton

Calvin C. Hamilton, 82, of Palatka, FL, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2007. He was born on August 8, 1924 in Orange County, VA to parents, Russell and Aldia Hamilton. He was a retired commercial painter and was a World War II Veteran, serving his country in the United States Army in the North African and European Theatre. He was awarded the Purple Heart, 2 Silver Stars and a Bronze Star. Mr. Hamilton was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Palatka, FL and is survived by his wife of 7 years, Phyllis DeAnne Hamilton; children, Carol Ann Henley (Ronald) of Virginia Beach, VA and Russell T. Hamilton (Sandra) of Middleburg, FL; step-children, Kelli S. Mercer (Robert) of Palatka, FL, Jo Anne Wilson (Richard) of Crescent City, FL, Don L. Gibson, Jr. (Nanette) of Palatka, FL, Jerry Gibson (Linda) of Gainesville, FL, Stephen L. Gibson (Vicky) of Pennsylvania; 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, March 15, 2007 in the Chapel of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home with Reverend Anne Godbold officiating. A Memorial Service will also be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 18, 2007 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 201 Mission Rd., Palatka, FL.
