Adolf Paul Storz

November 10, 1933 — January 29, 2022

Adolph Paul Storz, 88, died peacefully on Saturday, January 29, 2022.  Dolf as he preferred to be called was born November 10, 1933, to Adolph and Freda Storz in Morristown, New Jersey.

Dolf graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in 1951 and Newark College of Engineering with a degree in mechanical engineering.  After graduation, Dolf was drafted in the Army for two years and then went on to serve as Standby Reserve until he was honorably discharged in 1961 with a PS-3 rank.  Dolf was stationed at Fort Dix, NJ, and Fort Knox, KY.  He worked for RCA/GE for over 25 years in Somerville, NJ, Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Mountain Top, PA.  His most significant accomplishment was a patent for the method of making a phosphorus glass passivated transistor.

Dolf was an outgoing, caring man, always willing to lend a helping hand.  He was highly organized.  He kept physically active by running around the block and working out at the gym but what he really enjoyed was tennis!  You could find him at PGA National almost every day of the week playing singles and doubles.  Dolf played on various tennis leagues over the years.  He gave blood regularly and was an active member of “Give A Life” Foundation, Loyal Order of Moose, and Citizens on Patrol.

He is predeceased by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Marilyn Jane Storz, and brother, Jack Norman Storz (Carol); and survived by his children, Holly McQueen and Jonathan Storz (Jennifer); grandchildren, Allison Romm (Miles), Ashley Wilkinson (Richard), Jonathan Storz and Jayden Storz, as well as 2 great grandsons, Parker and Bennett Romm and sister, Vera Reckendorf.

A graveside service will be held on February 19, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margarets’s Episcopal Church Cemetery in Fleming Island.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1346, Green Cove Springs, FL  32073.
