Alexander “Al” Carabas
Al passed away January 16, 2020 in the Moosehaven Health Care Center at the age of 95. He was born to Thomas and Amelia Carabas on January 3, 1925 in Highland Park, Michigan. Al married Lemona Trikes and they had 4 sons, Richard, Alexander, Michael and Stephen, 7 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great, Great Grandchild. Al served in the US Army during World War II as a Med Tech. He worked as an x-ray technician in a hospital retiring in 1991. Al became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on June 14, 1983 when he joined Fort Myers Beach, FL Lodge #964. He became governor on May 1, 2003 and received his Fellowship degree on July 1, 2002. He became a member of the 25 Club on February 20, 2002 and sponsored 27 members in his lifetime. Al came to Moosehaven on March 28, 2006 where he resided for 13 years and 10 months.
Funeral Services were held Tuesday, January 21, 2020 in the Moosehaven Chapel at 10:00am. Services conducted by Rev. Helen Taylor and Opportunity Lodge. Al was laid to rest in the Moosehaven Mausoleum.
He is survived by his sons, Michael Carabas (Patti) of Sparta Michigan and Stephen Carabas (Linda) of Las Vegas, Nevada.
