Alma L. McRae 1941 – 2017 Alma L. McRae 76 of Green Cove Springs, Fl passed away with her loving family by her side on October 23, 2017. Alma was born on January 25, 1941 in Raiford, Florida to the late Ollie (Bud) and Gracie Mae (Carnell) Thornton. Mrs. McRae was a lifelong resident of Clay County. Mrs. McRae worked for the Clay County School Board as a Cafeteria manager spending most of those years at Clay High School where she retired in 2006 after 30 plus years. While many called her “mama” she was best known for being called “Ninnie” in which was the name she most treasured hearing. Mrs. McRae is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years, Donald F. McRae of Green Cove Springs, Florida; two daughters, Debbie Charbonneau (Mike) of Lake Alfred, Florida and Donna (Tom) Green of Raiford, Florida; son, Donald (Bo) McRae of G.C.S. Florida; sister, Judy Thomas of Starke, Florida; two brothers, John and Roy Thornton of Starke, Florida; six grandchildren, Dustin and Eric (Bubba) Kudlesky of GCS, Florida, Almanda (Mandy) Mullens Noyes (Glenn) of Middleburg, Florida, Lacey and James Charbonneau of Lake Alfred, Florida and Beau (Katelyn) McRae of Middleburg, Florida; 6 great-grandchildren, Trenten Kudlesky of Yulee, Florida, Allyssa Kudlesky of Hampton, Florida, Holden Kudlesky of St. Augustine, Florida, Aubrey McRae of Middleburg, Florida, Lane McRae of Waldo, Florida and Cheyenne (Dustin). As well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. She was preceded by one son, Baby Boy McRae; 2 grandchildren, Donald (Donnie) McRae and Kaitlyn Green; four brothers, Russell, Joe Ollie, Vernon, Anthony and two sisters Mary and Ann. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm in the Broadus- Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm Friday, October 27, 2017 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Surrency officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery with pallbearers: Jesse McRae, Toastie McRae, Dustin Kudlesky, Mike Underwood, Allen Kudlesky, and Daniel Gillyard.
